happy again

Yes, I'm happy again!!
I've been kind a down since I came back from Tanzania, but now, somehow, I'm acctually quite happy! I'm travelling around the country having presentations about my stay in Tanzania and I'm enjoying it!! I still miss tanzania like crazy, and I want to go back as soon as I can. But somehow, I'm happy!

I love the title of your blog: Water on my Nose!

Reading about your adventures in Tanzania brought back memories of when I was an exchange student in Turkey in the early '80s.

I can totally relate to your love of another place. And how locals treated you differently or stared at you as if you were from Mars!

I was the only Asian American in the most (religious) conservative city in the country--I stood out like a sore thumb.

BUT...I loved it so much I went back after I graduated from college. And I'd go back there in an instant now, if I could.

So I encourage you to return to the land you love! It's always better the second time around.:-)

hmm what was it that made you sad and why are you in Tanzania? Helping the society? If so, are you doing it effectively? Why Africa .. why is it always Africa?

the things that made me sad was coming home from Tanzania, realising that my life here in Norway sucked. None of my friends were home, it was cold, grey and boring...I came back from Tanzania in january, and no, I was not helping the society. I was living there with a Tanzanian family for 5 months learning about their cultu and about their way of life. It is an exchange program between norway and tanzania, we were 4 norwegians there, and now there are 4 tanzanians here in norway doing what we did there: creating understanding between cultures!
